Laura McNamara has quoted Matt Sudlow‘s thoughts on the latest government policy shift to impact the farming industry. The sudden closure of the SFI scheme comes at a time when farmers are already feeling the impact of the wider cost of living crisis and are facing the impact of the changes to Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.

This combined with two poor harvests and the removal of the BPS scheme is likely to result in many more farmers considering asset disposal.
